Aghada GAA Juvenile Update - Helen Walsh (Juvenile GAA PRO)
There is a slight lull in match activity within the juvenile section at present as many of our players take a break from games to focus on their Junior Certificate and Leaving Certificate examinations. We would like to wish all of them the very best of luck over the coming weeks. We hope their hard work and dedication are rewarded and that whatever path life leads them down, they find success, happiness, and fulfilment.
On the playing front, our U14's are currently are the only group actively involved in championship action.
The P2 Footballers finished second in their group following three round-robin matches against O’Donovan Rossa, Inniscarra & Clonakilty, and have successfully progressed to the next stage of the competition.
The U14 Div1 hurling championship round-robin campaign concludes this Friday evening at home in Rostellan against St. Colman’s. A victory is required to continue their championship journey, so we wish them very best of luck.
Across the other age groups, from U12 right through to Minor level, in both hurling & football the league campaigns are nearing completion, with only a small number of fixtures remaining. Attention will then turn to championship action, which begins in July for U16 and Minor teams.
Our Go Games groups continue to represent the club with great enthusiasm, taking to the field most weekends and proudly wearing the Aghada jersey. They have displayed excellent skills, sportsmanship, and enjoyment throughout the last few weeks, and it is wonderful to see so many young players developing and enjoying the games.
Reports and updates from all teams are regularly posted on our Facebook & Instagram pages, so be sure to follow along for the latest news.
For now, we once again wish our Under 14s the very best of luck on Friday evening, and we look forward to championship season getting fully underway in July. Here’s hoping to see our pitches filled with Aghada players and supporters throughout a busy and exciting summer.
