A magnificent weekend last weekend for our Premier Junior Camogie team as they were crowned County Champions for 2025 in Castle Road. This is a huge achievement for our girls and management and they deserve great credit for their hard work throughout the year. Read all about the final here: https://www.aghadagaa.com/articles/165853
Unfortunately, our Intermediate A Hurlers were not on the right side of the result on Saturday afternoon as they fell short against a fancied Aghabullogue team in Ballyanly after extra time. Our lads battled excellently throughout the game and came back brilliantly in the second half to earn a draw and force the game to extra time. Right through extra time, our lads kept going but Aghabullogue pulled away eventually to end our year in this competition. Regardless, it has been a positive year, with our lads topping their championship group and performing very well in the County Semi Final. Well done to the players and management on their hard work all year. Roll on 2026!
On Sunday, Our Senior Ladies Footballers played their County Final against Éire Óg which was a repeat of the 2024 Final which went to extra time and free kicks to decide the winner. This game was also a very tight battle with every score vital and as expected went down to the last kick of the game. When the referee's whistle sounded for full time, both teams were deadlocked again. Draw game. This year though, there would be no extra time drama in this game as a replay was on the agenda instead.
Our Senior Ladies Footballers play their County Final Replay on Saturday (11th October) at 12 Noon in MTU Cork. It was great to see such a big crowd in MTU last weekend supporting our girls and it will be vital to get a big crowd to MTU again on Saturday. Our girls deserve our support so please make the effort to travel to MTU on Saturday! Best of luck to all the players, manager Eric Smith and his management team. Tickets are available at the gate.
Later on Saturday, we have another huge game. Our Premier Intermediate Footballers face Uibh Laoire at 2:30pm in Páirc Uí Rinn. Our lads have been preparing very well for this game since they defeated Glanmire in the Quarter Final of the competition a few weeks ago and will hope to reach the County Final with a win on Saturday. There is no doubt our lads will need our support in this massive game for the club so please make every effort to support them if you can! Best of luck to all the players, manager Mick Kiely and his management team. Tickets for this game are only available online at: https://www.universe.com/events/68de4d40690738002b03ab08 . If you can’t make the game, it will also be live on Clubber.
