A Chara,

For 2025 we have a new jersey supplier, thanks to a partnership with McKeever Sports. In the last week or so, the new jerseys have arrived into the club – 12 sets in all, 4 sets each for Camogie, GAA and Ladies Football.

Firstly, thanks to the adult ladies and men’s player group that got together to decide on the look of the new jersey and teased out the different sizes and fits etc. Not a straightforward job, so thanks for the time and effort put in here. The jerseys look fantastic.

Thanks to McKeever Sports for sponsorship towards the new jerseys and to Ronan Milner for all his help and support. Our main club sponsor Irving Oil has also generously increased their sponsorship for 2025 to allow us to invest further in our jersey replenishment project. Many thanks to Rosemarie Kenny, Mary Galvin and Irving’s continued support of our club. Also thanks to Bernard Alcock who for the last number of years, has sponsored a set of jerseys for the juvenile boys and has continued this very generous sponsorship for 2025.

On top of the sponsorship and in order to hit the ground running in our jersey replenishment project, the club ring fenced a portion of the incredible income from our Rebels Bounty supporters. Thanks to Aghada’s supporters of our Rebel’s Bounty fundraiser we were able to supply each section with 4 sets of jerseys. So a big thank you to each and everyone who gets behind the bounty to allow us further this and other projects within the club. We hope to continue and complete this replenishment project in the next 2 to 3 years and the Rebels Bounty fundraiser will continue to play a big part in this.

Pictured below, in appreciation of peoples ongoing Rebels Bounty support, are various team members and mentors receiving jerseys from members of our Rebels Bounty committee.
This year our adult hurling, football, camogie and ladies football teams will proudly wear the new Aghada jerseys manufactured by McKeever. On top of this our U16 & U18 Hurling/Football teams along with the U16/U18 Camogie and the U12/U14/U16 Ladies Football teams will wear the new McKeever jerseys.

Below, see our dedicated club link to our online shop with McKeever supplying the latest Aghada gear for 2025. Be sure to have a look!

All Ireland Preliminary Quarter Final - Cork Vs Dublin - Tickets
The Cork footballers had a great win against Roscommon last weekend and now face Dublin in the All Ireland preliminary quarter final. The game throws in at 6:15pm in Croke Park on Saturday. Hopefully, there will be a big crowd from Cork in Croke Park to roar on the rebels!

Tickets are available in all the usual SuperValu/Centra shops and online at: https://am.ticketmaster.com/gaa/sammaguire2025games

Upcoming fixtures:
  • Our premier intermediate footballers face Bishopstown in their final league match of the season on Sunday at 11:30am in Bishopstown.
  • Our Junior Hurlers face Russell Rovers in the junior league semi final on Tuesday night at 7:30pm in Rostellan.
  • Our Intermediate hurlers wrap up their league campaign on Thursday when they face Barryroe in Ballinhassig at 8pm (please note change of venue).
Three big games to look forward to over the next 7 days! Please support our lads if you can.

Finally, best wishes to Hannah Looney, Aoife Healy & Amy O’Connor who are in championship action with Cork Camogie on Saturday when they face Clare in round 4 of the All Ireland Championship. The game takes place at 2pm in SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh. Why not make the trip up to Cork to support the All Ireland Champions!

Also on Saturday, the Cork Ladies Football team travel to the west of Ireland to face Mayo. The game throws in at 3pm in MacHale Park, Castlebar. The rebels know nothing else but a win will be good enough to progress into the knockout stages of the competition. Best of luck to Sarah Leahy (Captain), Abigail Ring, Hannah Looney & Aoife Healy in this must win game.

Hopefully, everyone enjoys the sunshine over the next few days.

Slán,
Vince
