IT IS the final countdown to find the SuperValu-Irish Sun Ireland’s Most Dedicated GAA fan and four remain in contention.
The overall winner will net a whopping €15,000 for their local GAA club or to support other GAA activities.
And they will also receive a VIP package for the All Ireland football final with accommodation in Dublin and premium tickets for the big game.
If that wasn’t enough, Sun Sport columnist Graham Geraghty will take a training session for the team nominated by the winner.
One superfan has emerged from each of the four provinces.
Cork teen Hannah Looney, who dons a red Viking rig-out for match days, has reached the final.
Leinster are represented by John Kelly, who has overcome renal failure, a kidney transplant and transplant rejection, a triple bypass and leg amputation but still never misses a Kildare match.
In Connacht, Mayo-mad Thomas Harrison, who loves the GAA more than his missus Mary, is through. From Ulster, Patrick Ryan, a Dub living in Cavan, has overcome the odds after coming from way behind in the votes, to sneak into the decider.
No one goes home empty-handed at this stage as there are three runner-up prizes of €1,000 for their local GAA club and tickets and accommodation for the All-Ireland football final.
The Irish Sun red bus goes on tour next week and there will be a live broadcast from each of the finalists’ home towns from Monday to Thursday.
Each finalist will have one day and their own appeal on 2FM Breakfast Show with Jim-Jim and Paddy between 8am and 9am to rally enough votes to win the title.
The four finalists will take part in ‘Beat the Pundit’ on air. Sports broadcasters Michael Lyster, Jacqui Hurley, and Damien O’Meara will go up against the finalists in a rapid-fire quiz.
The overall winner will be decided by votes. You can cast your vote on www.superValu.ie.
The four finalists will learn on Friday who has won.
