Congratulations to the girls on their deserved awards.Sinead McCarthy who was Captain of the Juniors made a presentation on behalf of the team to Philip Kidney, Deirdre Culligan and Ursula Day for all their hard work throughout the year. After a wonderful meal, the girls danced the night away to Gina and the Champions who entertained all till the early hours. A wonderful night was had by all and hopefully 2011 will be a more successful year.

Tuesday August 31st-Junior County League Final Aghada 2.10 Dripsey 1.10

In what was their last game of the year, the Juniors ended on a high winning the County League for the first time. In what was a hard fought and close contest, the girls managed to hang on to win by a goal. The trophy was proudly accepted by a delighted captin Sinead McCarthy who gave a tremendous speech! Overall the Juniors has a great year under Philip Kidney, who took over managment of the team this year and managed to guide the girls to a East Cork Championship and County League Title in his first year. Hopefully this is the beginning of great next few years with a team that has massive potential.

Mon 3rd May East Cork Ladies Football Junior Championship Final

Aghada 7-14 Lisgoold 0-2

On Monday last, Aghada defeated Lisgoold down in Rostellan to become Junior East Cork Champions on a scoreline of 7-14 to 0-2. In truth this game was over at half time when Aghada were 5-6 to 0-1 ahead. A very strong performance from our backline, who broke down every Lisgoold attack and a clinical display from our forwards ensured Lisgoold never got a chance to get into the game. Congratulations to Sinead McCarthy who was nominated team captain. Best wishes to Caitriona Day who unfortunately had to be stretchered off, in her first game back after a 2 month layoff with another injury. We wish her a speedy recovery
Also a big thanks to all who came out and supported the girls, it was greatly appreciated and also a word of thanks to Mickey Lewis in the Long Point.
