Congratulations to the girls on their deserved awards.Sinead McCarthy who was Captain of the Juniors made a presentation on behalf of the team to Philip Kidney, Deirdre Culligan and Ursula Day for all their hard work throughout the year. After a wonderful meal, the girls danced the night away to Gina and the Champions who entertained all till the early hours. 1.10 In what was their last game of the year, the Juniors ended
on a high winning the County League for the first time. In what was
a hard fought and close contest, the girls managed to hang on to win
by a goal. The trophy was proudly accepted by a delighted captin Sinead

Mon 3rd May East Cork Ladies Football Junior Championship Final
On Monday last, Aghada defeated Lisgoold down in Rostellan to become
Junior East Cork Champions on a scoreline of 7-14 to 0-2. In truth
this game was over at half time when Aghada were 5-6 to 0-1 ahead.
A very strong performance from our backline, who broke down every
Lisgoold attack and a clinical display from our forwards ensured Lisgoold
never got a chance to get into the game. Congratulations to Sinead
McCarthy who was nominated team captain. Best wishes to Caitriona
Day who unfortunately had to be stretchered off, in her first game
back after a 2 month layoff with another injury. We wish her a speedy
recovery Kate Ring |
