Playing a very excitable brand of football Aghada had the best of exchanges under lights in Rostellan on a cold and windy night
Gerard O’Brien opened the scoring with a great point William Leahy followed with two more to lead after the 1st quarter. Bride rovers found it hard going against a teak tough fullback line of Tim Hartnett and the outstanding full back Michael Gilroy. On the 16th m Gerard O’Brien made a mighty run up the middle and popped it over the bar. Aghada were now full of running with Michael Burchill and Dave Rice to the fore. Leahy and O’Brien pointed to leave our lads 0-6 to 0-0 up at the short whistle after facing a big wind. While the score line might suggest it was all one way that was not the case. With Jeffrey Creedon and Cian Looney in sublime form there was no way forward for the Rovers.

Against the wind Aghada tightened their grip on the game O’Brien, Leahy Dave Rice were again to the fore with Michael McCarthy and Scott Coyle/Garde making inroads in the Aghada attack. Points from Coyle/Garde, Leahy and fittingly Gilroy all the way from full back finisher the game. As the long whistle approached Bride rovers found the net from a free but too little to late

This was the first outing of the juvenile club for 2008. The conditions were very breezy but it did not stop a brilliant performance by everyone.The next round they play the winners of Bride Rovers and Lisgoold this will take place next weekend.
