while the Saints scores came easy. Again Aghada had a lapse of concentration
and the Cats took full advantage to lead 2-10 to 0-8 after 40 minutes

After last years great games between two even sides which Aghada
won after extra time this game was eagerly awaited.
The Hill got a great start a goal and a point up after 2 minutes play.
Cian Fleming opened Aghada’s count with a great long range free.
Eoin Healy added two great points from play within a minute to show
why he is on the cork u15 panel. Now it was all Aghada Ronan Sheehan
grabbed a great pass from Healy and rattled the net. After nine minutes.
The Hill replied with three unanswered points before Fleming got a
soft long range goal from a placed ball. As the half came to a close
Fleming added two more minors before the Hill hit back with a point
followed by a major to tie the game. As time ran out the impressive
Barry Cashman added a great score to leave Aghada ahead 1-6 to 1-5
at the short whistle.
On resumption the Hill again levelled matters on the 36th minute .a
minute later Fleming again put us ahead, back came the Hill and again
levelled matters. Now came the stale mate as both sided fought for
every ball as the game hung on a tread. Then came the turning point
after a double sending off of Michael Russell and Cork u15 player
Anthony Cronin following scenes that should not be seen at any hurling
game. Aghada got the bit between the teeth, as the game entered the
last Quarter two points from Fleming followed by a magnificent point
by John O’Brien but day light between the sides. Healy ,Fleming(0-2)

Mon 17th July u16 hurling Aghada 1-9 Cloyne 0-5
Aghada came out on top in this dress rehearsal for the league final.
While Aghada qualified with full points Cloyne also made it thanks to
results elsewhere.
Aghada opened strongly with two points from Cian Fleming in as many
minutes. Eoin Healy and Fleming again added two more before Cloyne got
on the score board. Now it was Aghada’s turn to soak pressure
as Cloyne put over 4 points in a row to draw level after 20 minutes.
Slowly Aghada turned the tide with Conor Rice, Owen Healy, James Daly
and Gearóid Murphy was to the fore. Fleming pointed a free to
leave Aghada ahead at the brake.
On resumption no team could get the upper hand as both teams found scoring
heavy going. Healy broke the ice with a fine point. Shane Wall added
a beauty to put Aghada three clear going into the last quarter. Fleming
pointed again, then John O’Brien sealed matters with a goal and
a point to leave Aghada winners

This game was well worth waiting for
After nearly three hours of hurling in last years u15 final this game
was always going to be a cracker.
John O’Brien opened up the scoring with a major after five minutes.
Shane Wall followed with a fine point before the Hill had a score they
went on to score 1-4 before Aghada scored again when an ever improving
Cain Fleming got on the score board. Russell added another before Aghada
were rocked by a major full due to our lads they fought back and points
from Wall and Fleming (0-2) left the half time score 2-5 to 1-6
Aghada with Conor Rice outstanding at fullback started to get on
top.
Shane added another point before the Hill again found the net. Kenneth
O’Keeffe, Eoin Healy and John Martin piled on the pressure.
A goal and a point from Fleming had us back in the game then we were
hit again another major. Now we had to fight back all over again and
how we did. Fleming was by now in complete control scoring three points.
Then came the wining goal from the outstanding Martin to put Aghada
ahead for the 1st time since the 15th Minute. Now Aghada had to hold
out and indeed they did. This was not a game for the faint hearted
played at a fast pace with not quarter asked or given.
