| Thursday the 29th of June, in Midleton saw Aghada’s Junior B hurlers, bow out of this year’s championship at the first round stage. Aghada started well enough, playing with the breeze, but still found themselves 2 points in arrears at half time. A goal immediately after the restart, put the Glanmire men in control of a game they never looked like losing. Michael Lewis had a great game in goals for Aghada, making a number of good stops. Outside him, Conor Rice impressed at corner back, as did Aiden Heavin and Shane Morrissey. Up front David O’Keeffe got the goal and John Wall won a lot of ball at wing forward, in an otherwise out of sorts Aghada attack. Aghada Team – Michael. In a disappointing performance, only Alan Creedon Mark Lewis, Shane Morrissey, Anthony Connolly and Finbarr Day could be pleased with their performances. Aghada Team – My. Fri 21st April Junior Hurling league 2 Aghada 1-11 Bride Rv. 4-15
the Junior B hurlers didn’t have the ideal start to this year’s league campaign, when Bride Rovers took the spoils in Rathcormack last Friday night. The game was a good and close contest up to the 40th minute, but then Rovers took over and rattled off a succession of points as well as 3 goals to put the game well beyond the reach of the Aghada men. Aiden Cotter, Shane and Vincent Morrissey played well on the night while Anthony Connolly pounced for Aghada’s only goal.
