We knew going to Cloyne we were up against it but how we played. Dessie opened the scoring with a point after five minutes as Aghada piled on the pressure and when Cian Fleming goaled twice we were on our way. Slowly but surely O’Neills came into the game, great defending by Aghada held O’Neills to three points for the half. Pa was again at his brilliant best while outside him Eoin Savage had a mighty game at corner back. Indeed all the backs were on top. O’Neills turned with the wind and had a point after 6 minutes of the restart. Try as they might O’Neills could not brake down Aghada’s defence and when Pa Made a mighty save things looked good for Aghada. If Aghada could have landed a score at this time an upset was on the cards. Then in a blistering 4 minute spell late in the game O’Neills scored 1-3. Then Centre back Conor Rice got the line the floodgates opened and that was that Shane Wall got the last score of the game with a fine point. This was a great show of heart and guts from a young Aghada team

We made the long journey to Brinny for a second round game in Feile against Valley Rovers
While we played quite well we left the Rovers off to a strong start as a result we were all ways playing catch up. Goals from the best player on the field Cian Fleming would have done any senior hurler proud. One from all of eighty yards found the back of the net when the goalkeeper could not handle it. The next goal was from a thirty yard free, which he blasted to the net Rohan Sheehan, Conor Rice and Shane Wall also impressed for Aghada

Here again after losing our opening match against Killeagh/Ita’s were put on a mighty display of hurling to move into the next round
Shane Wall opened the scoring with two points. Michael Russell and Cian Fleming added two more before Kinsale got their 1st. Shane Wall found the net followed by a John O’Brien point. Kinsale replied but Wall pointed followed by Fleming. Eoin Savage goaled just on the short whistle to give Aghada a big lead turning into the wind.
Scores were hard to come by in the second half but Fleming pointed and Eoin Healy goaled to leave Aghada handy winners who now take on Valley Rovers away next Sun at 5-00pm. Andrew O’Donoghue, Conor Rice , Rohan Sheehan, Chris Cashman were the best of the backs while Kenneth Higgins played well also
