Our u11footballers done us proud last Sat when they won the plate final against Youghal in the

East Cork Championship ran as a blitz in the pike field in Glanmire on one of the finest days of the year.

Jeffrey Creedan played a captains part from centre back where he was outstanding. Kane Looney also played a blinder between the posts making many great saves. Up front William Leahy was our top scorer with 3-1 over the course of the day. Cormac Sheehan was also on top form sealing off the wing back position. Raymond Savage was on the other wing from where he soloed with the ball and got a great goal. Kevin O’Sullivan added 1-1 from corner forward . Jack Hayes also scored 1-1 from the other corner. James O’Leary, Fergal Culligan and Tim Hartnett held the backline together. Shane O’Hanlon got 2-0 from full forward. Dave Rice added a point from centre field , while Scott Coyle/Garde got a great goal in the final. Michael McCarthy also got a point . Bryan O’Bryne and Michael Gilroy were on top form as was Ben Jones , Ryan O’Keeffe and Conor O’Driscoll. Well done to all any other great win from Aghada .

Aghada played Carrigtwohill in the 1st game and were unlucky to lose on the scoreline of 3-2 to 2-1. Next up were Youghal which we won 3-2 to 1-2 . Glanmire were next and they proved to strong for our lads yet we played our best football in this game.

On it was on to the final were we again beat Youghal this time by 3-2 to 1-1 William Leahy scored 2-1 of this. It was a tired but happy group of lads that made their way home from the Pike with the trophy in tow in the save keeping of the outstanding Jeffry Creedan.
