LEAGUE TABLE

Thur 17th July u14 Hurling Championship

Aghada 0-3 St.Catherines 3-4

Our u14 hurlers bowed out of the Championship last Thur. night. While things did not go right on the night we were closer than the score suggested. Short Sean Hargan and Cain Fleming we were always up against it. Over the year these lads can feel very proud because they raised the standard of there hurling over course of the season . Losing out on a league final place by only one point was scant reward. But if we can maintain the improvement we will soon be making finals

Our u14 hurlers failed narrowly to qualify for League final despite beating Russell Rovers in our last league game. Our Draw against St’ Catherines caught us in the end. Still it was a great campaign winning 3 drawing one with one defeat

Sun 6th July u14 hurling Aghada 3-5 Cloyne 0-6

With seven of the winning u12 team playing + two subs Aghada made light work of Cloyne in the Christy Ring park last Sunday Aghada had all the aces and when Brian McCarthy goaled in the opening minute we never looked back . Five minutes later Andrew O’Donoghue had the ball in the back of the net. For the rest of the half Aghada were only able to add two Cain Fleming points to Cloyne’s one to leave the half time score 2-2 to 0-1
On resumption Cloyne turned to play with the wind and we expected an onslaught , and when Cloyne got two quick points it looked bleak . Aghada had other idea’s and with Finbarr Day , Eoin Savage and Ronan Sheehan in fine form in the fullback line Cloyne could make no headway and when Cain Fleming scored 1-3 from play Cloyne were in trouble . They did add two more points to leave the final score 3-5 to 0-6 . Conor Rice ,Aidan O’Connell and Rory Walsh caught the eye

Sun 27th April u14 Hurling Aghada 5-4 Lisgoold 1-3

Wed 23rd April u14 Hurling Aghada 1-1 St. Catherines 0-4

Aghada had a deserved draw in the u-14 hurling league match played in ballynoe. St cathernies opened the stronger and lead at half-time 2 points to 1 our only score coming from shane wall. The second half started with aghada playing some great hurling with Cian Fleming and Conor Rice playing great hurling down the middle of the field.St Catherines went 3-1 up in the last few seconds of the game only for Finbarr Day to take a fast puck out to Cian Fleming who went on a 30 yard solo run and pucked a high ball into the square with Eoin Healy doing some great work the ball broke to Padraig Mulry who struck an unstoppable shot to the St. Catherines net to give us a share of the spoils. Overall it was a great team efford.
