Wrong end of the score line again, but it does not tell the full
story a game played in the true Aghada Cloyne tradition. Aghada
started the better but Cloyne got the first goal they added another
before scorer in Chief Bryan O’Bryne hit Aghada’s
first point. Cloyne scored their third goal to open a big lead,
but how our lads fought back. Around this time James O’Leary
came on and what a difference he made. David Rice head and shoulders
above everyone else lead the comeback. O’Bryne then hit
a great goal striking off his bad hand placed it perfect for a
wonder goal. By now Michael Burchill came into the game-winning
ball after ball. That coupled with Jeffery Creedan and Gerard
O’Brien getting on top of their men meant Aghada had more
ball. O’Bryne struck again for his second goal and when
Ryan O’Keeffe pointed a free only one point remained between
the sides. Try as we might we be able to not bridge the gap. The
Cloyne goalie made some great saves and when Cloyne scored a point
from a free we were unable to respond. Cormac Sheehan , Seamus McCarthy , Raymond Savage , Graham Coleman , Gerard O’Brien , Emma Farmer David Rice , Jeffery Creedan Michael McCarthy , Bryan O’Bryne (2-1), Michael Burchill Evan McGee, Shane O’Hanlon , Cain Looney Subs used Ryan O’Keeffe (0-1) , James O’Leary , Stephanie

Last Thursday Whitechurch visited Rostellan
and once again they came away victorious when they beat our u10
team. While we did not reach the highest we did against Cloyne we
still played well . Captain Ger O’Brien and Michael McCarthy

we entrained Brian Dillons in two games last Sat. We have plenty new blood on the way both on and off the field. Thanks to the people who catered for all in the kitchen Full report next week on the game |
| This was one of these nights when one is blessed to watch hurling
at its best . If anyone could find a better match than this good
luck to them.It Had every thing, fine hurling, brave play, spills
and thrills, ground hurling, 65’s pointed, block downs, I
could go on all night. Tonight was a team of stars from Brian O’Bryne
in goals to Kain Looney up front everyone gave of their best. Shane
O’Hanlon scoring 2-1his best game in a green shirt, Ben Jones
1-0, Ryan O’Keeffe the 65 and man of the match Dave Rice with
his long range point. We also had an own goal when the Ballincollig
centre man goaled in his own net. When Ballincollig turned the screw
in the second half we were well able for them. Our fullback backline
stood firm under fierce pressure as did our half backline indeed
they were the launch pad of our attacks. When the afore mentioned
Ben Jones goaled it was all over for our 1st u10 win of the year

Mon 14th July Aghada 2-1 Cobh 4-5
Again a great game of hurling with some mighty scores by both sides, but Aghada had to give way to a very strong Cobh side. Brian O'Bryne's long puck out were tremendous and put fierce pressure on the Cobh defence. Dave Rice from centre field and Kevin O’Sullivan from full forward got Aghada’s goals.David also added the point . The full back line of Tim Hartnett, Seamus McCarthy and Jack Moran were rock solid and could not be faulted for any score .Out side them Scott Coyle/Garde, Raymond Savage and especially Ger O’Brien played their heart out. Ryan O’Keeffe showed some great touches. Up front Graham Coleman, William Leahy and Rory Hurley played their part as did Kain Looney and James O’Leary, any team must have subs and we had as good as you could get. Stephanie Coleman , Ben Jones , Shane Hanlon , Michael Burchill and David Daly gave of their best when they came on.

| I was asked why I
spent some much time with the u10 Hurlers Well to night answered
that, what a wonderful show of skill and courage from 18 boys and
girls lead by Jeffery Creedan, Ryan O’Keeffe and Kevin O’Sullivan.
It is wrong to single out any one as all played their part, but
these three lads were the bravest of the brave. Michael McCarthy’s
goal was the starting point with at least six players involved in
the move Mike was on hand to bang it away. Kian Looney and Shane
O’Hanlon came close to scoring but the keeper was equal to
it, While back in defence Raymond Savage, Jack Moran, Tim Hartnett
kept Dillon’s at bay. Jack Hayes was his usual good self in
goals. Just coming up to half time the city boys got their goal
to level, Our lads started the second half with fire in their bellies and when Kevin O’Sullivan latched on to a ball and first timed it to the netwe were on our way . Now Dillon’s came at us but we were equal to the job. Stephanie Coleman showed that girls could hurl two. By now the hurling was hard many were hurt but up they got and played on Graham Coleman, Kyle and Keelan Kennedy were to the fore as was Tim McCarthy. Then the city boys attacked the, ball in the square, save by Jack Come on lad’s get it out, ball goes in again can we survive out comes Michael Burchill with the ball Bryan O Byrne adds to it as do James O’Leary to clear our lines and a famous victory. Aghada people where ever you are in the world rest easy as we are rearing them still.

In our first u10 league game of the year we
were held to a draw. A great game all round with Jack Hayes in goal making some great saves While the full back line of Ben Jones, Raymond Savage and especially Tim Hartnett were outstanding Gerard O’Brien was the rock in the centre of defence. Michael McCarthy and Fergal Culligan were on top of their game Jeff Creedan was in command of centre field. While up front William Leahy lead the way with a great goal Marie Corigialano got the second goal. Kevin O’Sullivan also impressed up front. Roisin Phelan playing her first game for Aghada was the pick of both teams with her drive and hooking . Brian O’Bryne, Ryan Woodgate, Evan Magee, Graham Coleman, Stephanie Coleman, Jack Moran, Kane Looney Adam Colman, Shane Hanlon and Scott Coyle-Garde all played their part |
