Sat 31st Aug U21 Hurling Championship

Aghada 4-10 Killeagh 1-18

Heart stopping stuff for once we came out the right side of a result. A point blank save by Martin Day turned the tide for us and from the clearance Connelly pointed followed by a Brian Morressy point to leave Aghada leading by two points with time up, Killeagh attacked relief a point and Bill Cody blows up for full time. Bring on Fr.O' Neills. Things could have been so different. Brian Morressy opened the scoring with a goal after young Conor Hickey made a great run. Aghada were not to score again for 15 minutes when Steven O'Keeffe added a point .in the mean time Killeagh hit over six points with out reply. Killeagh added two more to leave them leading by 0-8 to 1-1 with half time fast approaching Aghada were now playing with more purpose and it showed O'Keeffe tapped over a point then Tony Wall stuck a great goal. Connelly and Morressy added a point each while Killeagh got three points to leave them leading 0-11 to 2-4 at the short whistle. With JPO'Connor now operating at centre back Aghada were now in control. Points from Connelly, O'Keeffe and Wall gave Aghada the lead. It was short lived how ever. Killeagh hit back with three points followed by a goal. Up steps sub David O'Keeffe Goal back in business. Killeagh Reply with a point Steven O'Keeffe points a free and then Brian Morressy gets a goal to give back the lead with time running out and then came Days save. The rest they say is history
