AGHADA HURLING AND FOOTBALL CLUB

O what a game of hurling but our luck ran out in the end. This time it was the Hills turn to level the game. Still we had our chances to win the game in normal time. It was not to be with the Hill getting the goal after the their man fowled the ball but the Ref never seen it and the goal stood we never really recovered after this. Even when the hill goalkeeper made a great save from Alan Creedan at the expense of a point this was to be or last score . the Hill out scored Aghada 1-5 to 0-2 in extra time to win the match . It was a different story in normal time we should have won this match by alas it was not to be . The hill went into an early lead tapping over three points without reply until Shane Morressy pointed a free this was followed a goal for the hill , then Declan Morressy pointed the hill added an other point before Padie Wall found the net Wall added an other point to level just a point between the teams . then Alan Morressy struck goal to set the score at the short whistle at Aghada 2-3 Watergrasshill 1-4 . On the resumption Shane Morressy added a point from a free the hill hit back with a point Padie added another then the hill got the goal level again but not for long again Wall hit a goal the hill replied with a point Padie responded with a great point to leave a goal between the teams as time up approached . Then a sideline ball a cross the square a goal for the hill we made two attacks on goal by to no avail . Spare a thought for this team that player their heart out from Damen O'Brien in goals to Laim Day who had an outstanding game, to John McCarty to Even Kennedy and Alan Creedan our only subs to Daryl Kidney who played on with a bad finger. On the night we had 17 hero's and we should be proud of them .

yes the Aghada spirit is alive and well, what a draw, what a game . this game was packed with everything hard hurling , Goals galore, even two red cards Damien Wall and the Hill corner forward getting their marching orders near the end . It took 15 minutes for a score to come a point for the Hill then Padie Wall hit not one but two goals within a minute now the game was on, but by half time the Hill had three goals and three points all from full forward Don O'Riordan . Shane Morressy added a point from a free to leave the half time score 3-3 to 2-1 . At the throw in Aghada won a free Morressy floated the ball into the square the ball hopped Goal.From the puck out we won the ball the Hill goalie made a great save but Alan Morressy was on hand to tap it home Again two goals within a minute . the Hill hit back with a point Before Shane Morressy taped over a point from a free and Padie Wall added a great long range point . Two points up could Aghada hold out . and we did for a long time the Hill now playing their best hurling tried hard but with Laim Day now on O'Riordan the Hill found scores hard to come by as did Aghada . our best change fell to Sub Kenneth O'Brien but to no avail . O, Riordan shook off Day to level the scores with two points , more was to follow the Hill now with their tails up pressed hard and went three points up in extra time could we get one shot a long ball in Shane Morressy found Alan out on the wing he shot inside made room for himself and the rest is history a replay on Wed Night

U16 hurlers record first league win
After losing our first two league match's by one point it was a change to win one by a point in a hard fought game in Rostellan last Monday night . Both teams had plenty changes to win the game and our lads had to rely on a late Alan Morressy goal (he also got the other goal) to win the game
