A game played in trying conditions in a well-kept Ballinacurra.
Fr. O'Neills started the better only for a great save by Dave Condon in goals
Aghada were in trouble. Kenneth O'Brien opened the scoring with a lovely point
A major soon followed that from Michael O'Neill. O'Brien easily the best player on show was causing all sorts of problems for O'Neills with his surging runs. Alan Creedan popped over a point to give Aghada a bit of leeway after the first Quarter. Now it was Aghada's turn to soak the pressure
With Richard Condon out standing in the back line Aghada held firm, until just before the small whistle O'Neills banged in a goal. O'Brien replied with two fast points to leave Aghada four points to the good at half time.
Again O'Neills started the better when they landed two great points to narrow the lead . again O'Brien struck for a point, followed by a Shane Scannell point again Aghada lead by four.
Slowly O'Neills upped the pressure which resulted in a goal to leave the only a point between the sides . In the twinkle of a eye O'Neills had the ball again in the Aghada net only for it to be disallowed for a square infringement . Try as the might O'Neills could not breach the defense of Padie Wall and Alan Morressy and when Steven Gilroy goaled for Aghada that was that .

tough luck to David Hartnett who was out sick but who played his part in the other games
