U14 hurlers bow out
Russell Rovers 3-5 Aghada 1-5
What might have been, Rovers seem to have all the luck a long high ball into the back of the net a dream start to the second half for the Rovers, Back Aghada fought but to know avail and just when we had it pegged back to a goal and pressing hard for the equaliser the Rovers broke up the field and got a soft goal. Pa Crowley was again in top form pulling off some great saves while Séan Hargan, Finnbarr and Catherine Day were outstanding in the full back line. The other lady on the team Emer O'Donavan was easily the best player on view for Aghada. Indeed all the team played above themselves Alan Creedan got a great individual goal when he soloed from the forty and banged in a major, With Shane Wall (0-3) and Michael O'Neill (0-2) getting the other scores. Cian Fleming was fierce unluckily not to score a goal when the ball never rose for him. Michael O' Neill connected on a great ball again to see it just go wide . Aidian O'Connell made the center forward spot his owe when he played one of his best games for a long time . Even Kennedy just back from Australia played quite well when he came on as did Michael Russell. So now its back to the big ball again

After last Sunday we said that we would never see such tension and excitement again in a match this year. Well the u14 match surmounted it. It started off tame enough when Dave Leahy doubled a ball from Shane Wall to the net. Five minutes Alan Creedan pulled on a ball we all thought it landed in the back of the net util the ref. said it was a point and it fell threw a hole in the net. . Shane Wall, Cain Fleming and Michael O'Neill added points to leave the half time score 1-4 for Aghada against 0-5 for Sars. From the restart Sars got two quick goals to leave us chasing the game points from Creedan, Wall and O'Neill and we were only one point behind with six minuets left on the clock. Would history repeat its self, try as we might that score eluded us. Up steps Paul Crowley long range shot Goal two points ahead. Dave Condon won the puck out Shane Wall collected Goal five points up home and dry. Three minutes left Aghada attacking long clearance for Sars Goal two points again and as many minutes left. Its all right Condon wins the ball and clears but no here come Sars again 21-yard free Sars go for goal great save on the line. The ball scrambled clear Sars forward lobs the ball into the square but it goes over for a point and there goes the final whistle we win at last
