U12 HURLING FINAL

Aghada 2-3 St, Catherine's 1-7

Gutted
As u12's lose second final

Yes and only by the smallest of margins. We lost out to a great St. Catherine's side on the scoreline of 1-7 to 2-3. What have this team got to do to win an East Cork Title, a team that plays with so much heart and indeed today was no exception. Pa Crowley as always colossuses in goals, Andrew O'Donoghue at full back was again outstanding. The switch of Conor Rice and Chris Cashman paid dividends. When Shane Wall went to centre forward he opened up the Cats defence. Michael Russell arrived off the plane on the morning of the match and what a game he had capping a great display with a cracker of a goal. The other goal came from Eoin Healy with Shane Wall adding two points and Cian Fleming adding one to complete the scoring.
At the short whistle the Saints were leading by 0-3 to 0-1 and with their 1st attack they found the net to go 6 points up, but how we responded Wall landed a 45 free to cut the lead then two minutes later Eoin Healy gaoled what tension the Saints replied with a point Wall scored a great free. The Saints came again another point then Russell rocked the net on the 45 minute Aghada lead for the 1st time could we do it? piling the on pressure but that score eluded us on the 51st minute Catherine's pointed a 45m free to leave the score level could we hold on for the draw on the 59 minute the Saints won a free on the sideline a great point all was lost, or was it Conor Rice won a great ball Young Dessie gathered turned beat four players shot for goal :save: game set and match to the Saints. These lads are a special team and their day will surely come
Best of luck to St. Catherine's in the county

Tue. 25th June U12 Hurling Championship

Fortune Favors the Brave

Aghada 2-3 Killeagh 1-2

Yes our lads have made it to another East Cork Final after a titanic struggle with Killeagh. The news was not good at Rostellan when Rohan Sheehan and James Daly were unable to travel due to sickness added to Michael Russell, John Martin and Michael Desmond on Holidays we were down to 16 players put these lads are never down after losing the league fixture to Killeagh we knew we were in for a hard hours hurling. Eoin Healy got the 1st score a point that would stand out in any match doubled the ball over the bar. We were to score no more for the half while Killeagh replied with a goal and a point to lead at the short whistle. This did not tell the whole story Lion hearted Willie O'Shea, clearing ball after ball Cian Fleming and Shane Wall going strong at mid field John O'Brien and Padraig Mulry causing problems up front. Young Brian Condon playing the game of his life at corner Back While Pa. Crowley was the goal minder and what a game he played. . Conor Rice and Chris Cashman took the game by the scruff of the neck in the second half with Rice getting the 1st score of the second half, with tension rising Fleming got the ball on the forty and if Healys score was a peach this rivaled Fentons goal. Back in the lead now the pressure mounted, Pa making a save and going out and clearing the ball up the field. Cathal Mulry just wide, would it be our day. Back came Killeagh over the bar 1point ahead could we hold out Eoin Savage clears the ball Richie Dowling nearly gets the goal Killeagh Mount one last attack. Gearóid Murphy holds firm Andrew O'Donoghue the outstanding full back clears the ball Kenneth Higgins gathers feeds Shane Wall, Shane solos what a goal. Bring on St.Catherines or Russell Rovers in the Final
