| we all have heard of the thunder and lightning All Ireland Final , well we had one of our own in Ballinacurra on the 16th may. And what a game we had with both teams severing a treat of football . Aghada started the better and had a poor return of 3 points to no score at half time . Our lads played some outstanding football but were unable to brake down the Carrig defence .Our backs led by Conor Rice were also in mean form still the Carrig full forward go a shot on goal but thankfully he shot it wide. While all this was going on Lightning streaked across the field, yet our lads stuck to their task and played their heart's out. After the brake Aghada broke up the field and got a 14 meter free. Cian Fleming saw a chance of a goal but alas the ball went wide . Carrig hit back with three points in quick succession to tie the game . Carrigtwohill were now in the ascendance still we held on but entering the final five minutes the Carrig lads hit the back of the net, Try as we might we could not get inside the fullback line to Treaten the Carrig goal , Carrig added two more points to Aghada's one. to leave the score 1-5 to 0-4 still we had a great year from this bunch of u12 players team Michael HayesEoin Healy , Rohan Sheehan ,Eoin SavageWillaim O'Shea , Conor Rice, Chris CashmanCain Fleming (0-3), Katie HennessyShane Wall , Andrew O'Donoghue(0-1) , Kenneth HigginsPa Crowley , Michael Russell , James DalySubs Aoife Cashman, Josh O'Shea (0-1),Gearóid Murphy , Padraig Mulry, , John Martin ,Cathal Mulry, John O'Brien, Brian Condon ,Cathal Mulry,Paul Flynn,

| 10th May u12 football semi-final Aghada 2-10 Carrignavar 3-5 The Aghada fire ,spirit and never say die attitude is alive and well ,as could be seen in Rostellan on the 10th May ,when our u 12 footballer's won one of the best games played at this level for many a long day . starting at a blistering pace (which was kept up for the hour) Michael Russell opened the scoring with a great point two minutes later Shane Wall put over a classic point, then Aghada won a 45 and Cian Fleming found the net from the free. Fleming scored another free to put Aghada in fount after the 1st quarter 1-3 to 0-0 , but this Carrig team didn't top the league for nothing and back they came with a goal . and now they piled on the pressure. Michael Hayes brought off a fine save on his line, and Eoin Savage was on hand to clear the ball . Conor Rice playing his 1st match this year (due to injury) came more and more into the game at centre back. Rice found Shane Wall with a long clearance who put Russell in for another point . With Fleming adding two more points to Carrig's point, we had a five point lead at the brake . Carrig came out in the second half with fire in there bellies and only for some fierce defending by man of the match Willie O'Shea who broke up attack after attack, Eoin Healy and Rohan Sheehan at full back who also had a vital say in matters as balls reined down on him he held their best player to 2 points .Michael Hayes held firm in goal but then a long high ball found the net for Carrig , Russell replied at the other end with a point then the Carrig full forward was bearing down on goal but in stepped Chris Cashman and his intervention saved a certain goal . Andrew O,Donoghue who had a fine game at centre forward increased Aghada's lead to four points . Then another long high ball again found the Aghada net now it was in the melting pot, ten minutes left one point in it could we hold out Carrig popped over an other point to level the match. Then com'et the hour com'et the girl Katie Hennessy got the ball on the thirty and headed for goal with four players hanging off her she rifled the net what joy three points ahead four minutes left . Carrig came in search of a goal, came away with a point, three minutes left Kenneth Higgins won a ball deep in our half found Pa. Crowley, point, two minutes, Carrig come again Point, l minute Willy o'Shea comes thundering out and clears a great ball . Game over. What relief, now for Carrigtwohill in the final next Thursday at 6-15 pm in Ballinacurra a repeat of last years u11 final which Carrigtwohill won by a point . team Michael HayesEoin Healy , Rohan Sheehan ,Eoin SavageWillaim O'Shea , Conor Rice, Chris CashmanCain Fleming (1-5), Katie Hennessy (1-0)Shane Wall (0-1), Andrew O'Donoghue(0-1) , Kenneth HigginsMichael Russell (0-3), Aoife Cashman, James DalySubs Pa Crowley (0-1) , Josh O'Shea ,Padraig Mulry,Gearóid Murphy , John Martin ,Cathal Mulry, John O'Brien, Brian Condon ,Cathal Mulry,Paul Flynn,Giorgio Corigliano

| Aghada finished out there league campaign on a poor note . After beating Carrig in the corespondent fixture early in the year we felt we could do the double over Carrig but not to be. Carrig started with a strong wind behind them and applied early pressure which Aghada repulsed then as the half came to a close Carrig hit for three goals that left Aghada reeling. The score at the break was Carrig 3-5 Aghada 0-0 . on the turn around thing's got better but we could not make any head way even when Cian Fleming hit a great goal followed by a point from sub Michael Russell and Fleming added two more points for Aghada to leave Carrig convincing winners team Michael HayesPadraig Mulry , Rohan Sheehan, Eoin HealyChris Cashman , Eoin Savage, Willaim O'SheaCain Fleming (1-2), Katie HennessyJames Daly, Shane Wall, Kenneth HigginsAndrew O'Donoghue, Aoife Cashman, Pa CrowleySubs used Michael Russell (0-1),Gearóid Murphy , John Martin ,John O'Brien, Brian Condon ,Cathal Mulry,Paul Flynn

Aghada 0-8 Carrignavar 4-6it seems we have to play Carrignavar in bad weather, that and Aghada school playing during the day accounted for this result. After a blistering start we were 7 points to the good after 20 minutes but then we could manage only one point for the rest of the game. Only for the brilliance of Michael Hayes in goal, and Rohan Sheehan at fullback we would be in bigger trouble. We are still without Conor Rice and Chris Cashman hopefully we will have them back for the championship as this team are better than this. teamMichael HayesJohn O'Brien , Rohan Sheehan( Capt), Eoin HealyGearóid Murphy, Eoin Savage, Willaim O'SheaCain Fleming (0-3), Katie HennessyJames Daly, Shane Wall(0-1),Kenneth Higgins (0-1)Michael Russell (0-1) , Aoife Cashman, Cathal MulrySubs used , Padraig Mulry,Andrew O'Donoghue(0-2), John Martin ,Pa Crowley, Laura Burchill, Brian Condon |
In a mighty game of football the Erin's boys got the better of our lads .Again Cain Fleming was the hero of the hour scoring 2- 8 with our only other score a goal coming for Cathal Mulry, Aghada were 2-3 down before we found our feet and only for a few mix-ups in the backline we would have won this match . Still this was great display of raw courage and determination that nearly won the day for us . the high point of the match was Cain Flemings point taking he poped them over from all angles and was the inspiration behind our come back . In deed only for a Erins Own breakaway in which they got a goal in the dying minute's we were home and dry .Michael Hayes played very well in goals with Rohan Sheehan and John O'Brien rock solid out side him. The two Eoin's Savage and Healy ran their heaths out while Shane Wall and James Daly made great head way up the middle. But the vital score alluded the lads Still the second half was as good as a game you would ever see and we were missing Katie Hennessy, Chris Cashman and Conor RiceTeamMichael HayesEoin Healy, Eoin Savage, John O'BrienGearóid Murphy, Rohan Sheehan, Willaim O'SheaCain Fleming(2-8), Shane Wall,Kenneth Higgins ,James Daly, pa Crowley,Michael Russell, Andrew O'Donoghue, John MartinSubs used Cathal Mulry (1-0), Padraig Mulry, |
