One of the biggest Juvenile day's the year , with over 260 u10 players from 13 teams taking part . A feast of hurling, some great match's With Midleton winning the Mighty Mac's Group 1 and Dungourney winning Mighty Mac's group 2 Final's. Dungourney and Cloyne both hav'en won all their league games were hot fav's for the group 2 title . Bride Rovers caused the first upset of the day when they beat Cloyne on the scoreline 1-1 to 0-0. While Dungourney nearly suffered the same fate when they drew with Aghada after normal time but the Dungourney lads got the golden goal in extra time to reach the Semi final against a Fr.O'Neill's side that had a good win over Castlelyons. In the first semi final Dungourney got the better of a tough Fr.O'Neills side by the odd score 4-2 to 4-1 in what was the best match of the tournament with the unlucky O'Neills boys going home. The other Semi final was a much opener affair with Cobh been the stronger team that did not stop Bride Rovers from trying hard and were unlucky in the end.
Now on to the final Cobh and Dungourney. After their two narrow escapes Dungourney were in no mood to lose their unbeaten record in this competition. Indeed they turned on the style and ran out convincing winners on the scoreline of 4-2 to 0-0. We done to Dungourney it is very reassuring that a small club can still turn out the best team in the division.
While this was going on Midleton powered their way to become Mighty Mac's Group 1 Champions in a very convincing manner beating Erin's Own in the Semi and Youghal in the final by big score's.
In the Mighty Mac's Group 1 Plate final Sarsfields BT Erin's Own in the final again by the odd score in a very close game that could have went anyway.
In the Mighty Mac's group two plate old friend's Aghada and Cloyne met in the semi and what a game it was. After Cloyne Winning in the league Aghada were out to reverse that result and they did with some style winning on the scoreline of 2-2 to 1-0. In the other Semi Castlelyons defeated Killeagh to meet Aghada in the Final. The Final was one way traffic with Castlelyons winning and Aghada failing to get a score. Thanks must go to all the teams and their mentors for such a wonderful day of hurling. Thanks must also go to the ladies of the Aghada club for feeding the masses on the day also to the lads that refereed the matches. The cars were parked out on to the road such a crowd turned up.
