| While Blarney won this match our lads put up
a great show with William Leahy scoring a mighty goal. Bryan O'Bryne
got an equally good point alas these were our only scores. Raymond
Savage played some great football, as did Rory Hurley. Subs, Brian
Kavanagh, Maurice Shannahan, Michael McCarthy, Kyle and Keelan Kennedy
also played their part but the star of the show was Maria Corrigliano
who had an outstanding game in goals' while Séamus McCarthy
and Cormac Sheehan held the backline together. The half backline of Michael Burchill, Raymond Savage and Tim Hartnett was the best line on the field. Outside them Emma Farmer and Bryan O'Bryne worked their socks off. William Leahy was the best forward on view Jack Moran, Fergal Culligan and Tim McCarthy ably helped him Team Maria Corrigliano Cormac Sheehan, Séamus McCarthy Michael Burchill, Raymond Savage, Tim Hartnett Emma Farmer, Bryan O'Bryne (0-1), Rory Hurley, William Leahy (1-0) Fergal Culligan Jack Moran, Tim McCarthy Subs Brian Kavanagh, Maurice Shannahan, Michael McCarthy, Kyle and Keelan Kennedy Thanks to the ladies who provided the food after the game. |
| The team was as follows Tommy Dobbyn (couldn't be faulted for many of the goals), Seámus McCarthy, Gerard O' Brien, Cormac Sheehan (excellent - on his return), Tim Hartnett, Giorgio Corigliano, Raymond Savage, Ronan Kennedy (2-2), David Rice, Richard Dowling (1-0), Michael Desmond, Cian Rowe (1-0), William Leahy, Brian O'Byrne (1-0), Rory Hurley. Subs: Brian Condon (late) & Jack Moran . We were down a number of regulars without excuse. Glanmire were much too strong but when we could the ball past midfield, we were causing them a lot of problems. When Brian Condon arrived, he helped strengthen the defence considerably. In defence, Cormac Sheehan, Raymond Savage, Giorgio Corigliano (on return from sickness) tried hard, while at midfield David Rice and captain Ronan Kennedy (scorer of 2-2 who once again led by example by being top scorer) troubled Glanmire's defence frequently. In attack William Leahy looked very sharp, setting up many scores while Richard Dowling (1-0), Cian Rowe (1-0), Brian O'Byrne (1-0) were all among the scores. Michael Desmond, after a series of games the day before, worked hard when moved to midfield. That's the end of the under 10 for this year. |
