Sat 22nd June Aghada win B Hurling Championship 1st round Aghada 1 - 14 Castlemartyr 1 - 10
Aghada were always in control of the first half but squandered a lot of opportunities and Castlemartyr were always within touching distance. Stephen O Keeffe was a revelation in that period displaying great artistry. Midfielder John Connolly was proving to be deadly accurate from placed balls and corner forward Derek Bowler was a real hand full for the reds defence. Aghada led at half time 7 points to 4. On the resumption Aghada extended their lead with John Walls goal and points from Bowler and Aiden Cotter. Castlemartyr then awoke from their slumber and produced a heroic comeback scoring 1 - 6 in the final 20 minutes but Aghada's greater resolve won the day with Pa Sisk, Cathal O Gorman, Alan Devoy and Willie O Donoghue dominant forces and an inspirational point from the strong running Kieran O Connor sealing a deserved win for the boys in green. Sun 7th July Junior B Hurling Championship Aghada 1-15 Sarsfields 1-11

Aghada reach semi final
Aghada bt Sars twice in one week
After Beating Sars in the league last Tues night it took Aghada 35 minutes to get to get into this game when John Connelly solo broke open the Sarsfields defence when he added a goal to the 5 points he had scored up to then Aghada only other score came from Derrick Bowler. One should be forgiven for thinking this was a John Connelly Road Show. Tony Wall came on and with his 1st touch he pointed Connelly added three more points before Stephan O'Keeffe added one. With the half backline on top Cathal O'Gormain been outstanding for the hour, Kenneth O'Keeffe improved as the game went on. more points form Kieran O'Connor, Connelly and Stephan O'Donoghue left Aghada leading by 6 points with minutes to go when Sars got a 21yard free and they rattled Martin Day's net for the 1st time indeed Martin was never troubled for the hour When his full backline played outstanding for the hour. Aiden Cotter capped a great game when he added the last score of the game to leave Aghada in the Semi-Final

Tue 30th July B Grade Hurling Championship Semi-Final Aghada 0-9 Russell Rovers 1-7
For the second year running we departed the B Championship at the semi final stage.
Leading by 0-5 to no score at half time after playing with a strong wind. This was Aghada's best period yet we never made use of the ball we had. John Wall was making great inroads at wing forward and scored a great point while Adian Cotter mastered centre field Steven O'Keeffe found it hard going but still put over two points. John Connelly added two more one from a free to finish the half's scoring. Facing into the wind Wall scored his second point and things looked rosie. Kevin Hartnett (Cork Minor) hit Russell Rovers 1st point Adian Cotter replied for Aghada. Our backs were now under pressure while Sean O'Keeffe cleared ball after ball Aghada couldn't score and we had plenty chances .The Rovers Backline were well on top. Russell Rovers now dominated play riffling over 5 points with out reply. Sub Steven O'Donoghue scored a great point to restore Aghada's lead with minutes left then disaster along ball behind the defence, a touch, and a goal, The Rovers lead for the 1st time in the game. Now Aghada came alive but wasted many chances trying for goal when a point would have done John Connelly finally put the ball over the bar but time ran out. team

Sat 14th Dec Junior B hurling league final Aghada 3-7 Erins Own 1-10.

Last Saturday our Junior B hurlers captured the division 3 league title after a great game with Erins Own. Played on a cold dark day in Rostellan we showed once again the fine form and commitment that had been show all year as we outscored an impressive Erins Own Team. Playing against the wind in the first halve we started well and were matching Erins Own score for score with John Connolly striking over some impressive points. The breakthrough came after about 20 mins when we got 2 goals in the space of a couple of minutes. The first came from Stephen O Donoghue who pressures the goalkeeper into a mistake and he finished the ball to the top corner of the net. A minute later he turned provider with a great ball for the very sharp Tony Wall who gave the keeper no chance with a great strike from the 14.The first halve finished with John Wall scoring a fine point on the run. Half time Aghada 2-4 Erins Own 0-6. The second half was a very tight contest with both teams trading points John Connolly again the scorer for Aghada. A bad Injury to Stephen O Donoghue Led to big brother Paul coming on and with his first touch he scored a great point. It was nip and tuck from then on until Derek Bowler came on and scored a great individual goal in injury time to settle the contest. Erins Own scored from a penalty with the last puck but it made no difference at the end. Veteran Alan Devoy accepted the cup to round off a good year for our second string hurlers.
